i am a member of SIM Economics Society since last year after my lecturer kept asking us to sign up for a lunch seminar. And today i went for another lunch talk again. it's free anyway, with buffet lunch, so why not? LOL but this talk by Jimmy Koh, Vice President, Head of Economics-Treasury Research at United Overseas Bank (UOB)
was quite enlightening actually. he mainly talked about the crisis last year was the result of the failure of the shadow part of the banking industry, that consisted high weightage on derivatives. Get to know things more explicitly.
And one thing i learnt from this talk is we need not be clever to have a good future, we need not be from any good university as well, most importantly we need to be different from the rest. we must know where's our niche at. our niche would be something that we can do it easily without putting in much effort. By realising it then we can outperform the rest and be someone influential. :D
By the way, i didn't know KFC got egg tarts for breakfast!! i must try it soon!!
